How we rank

PaddockJob only shows a list of mechanics to registered teams that have a plan. Here, with nothing left out, is what decides the order.

Search by teams

Among the mechanics who match the search criteria — the event or dates, categories, specialities — the order is as follows:

  1. First, mechanics whose plan includes higher ranking: this is the Premium plan, which is paid. Their card carries the “Premium” label.
  2. Then profile completeness, from highest to lowest.
  3. Then the most recent activity on the platform.
  4. Where there is a tie, a fixed order: the same search always returns the same order, from one page to the next.

Completeness counts, out of 100 points, what the mechanic has filled in: location, disciplines, categories, specialities, level, years of experience, main role, languages, countries they travel to, chassis, engines, software, a title, a detailed introduction and a photo. It says nothing about the quality of their work: it says what a team will be able to read.

The order of listings

Listings are sorted, as the visitor chooses, by start date (soonest first, by default) or by publication date (newest first). Under a listing, similar listings are chosen by what they share — same race, same category, shared specialties, same country — then by the nearest date. A listing leaves the list the day after it ends, when it is covered, withdrawn or suspended, and it is not shown to an account that blocked its author or that its author blocked. No payment changes this order.

Replies to a listing

Replies received on a listing are shown from newest to oldest. No plan changes this order.

Public pages

Pages open without an account — events, the directory — rank no mechanic: they count available mechanics. Listings show no mechanic at all. No payment buys a place on a public page.

What never affects the ranking

The desired rate, distance, dealings with PaddockJob and any payment other than the Premium plan. There are no reviews or ratings: no ranking relies on a third party's opinion.
